I setup my desktop with Windows 10 as the 1st Windows 10 workstation to test it out. I could not change the lock screen, no matter what settings I tried. After that you can change the lock screen and than just turn that setting back on if you wish. Hope that helps. Have you double checked this? I did have some issues at first but after checking the rsop results I found out that the image path was wrong in the policy, once I updated the policy it worked just fine.

Did you try my steps on the first page? I was inadvertently doing what you're trying. Worked for me on the lock screen, but not the login screen. Keep in mind I believe it's a computer policy. I don't have an issue with the lock screen. I tested that and it works. I disable the lock screen anyway and was more interested in the LOGON screen which I was able to disable any image altogether with a simple addition to the registry. However, the group policy " Force a specific background and accent color " no longer works like it does in Windows 8.

Hi my district switched from Novell to Active Directory this year and all our machines are now running Windows After only 2 days of school half a dozen of the computers in our computer tech lab have had the login screen background changed by the students.

None of them have administrative privileges. I don't know how they did it. I want to set the background on the login screen via GPO so they all look uniform when I work in the lab. It's annoying to turn them on and see odd ones with different screens. It makes me think there's something wrong with those, I almost want to re-image them again but that would be a stupid waste of time over a background image.

That's where I can prohibit them from changing the theme, which is good. But I don't see an entry for the login screen background there. In Win10 , it's unreliable though.
